In the summer of 2005 a friend gave me a copy of the New Testament to listen to. I was interested in what the Bible was all about and since I had an hour commute to and from work, I had time to listen to it. I believe it was somewhere in the book of Ephesians as I was on my way home when the Lord opened my eyes. I was overcome with an overwhelming sense of joy that I had never felt before. I later realized that it was the burden of sin I had been carrying that He lifted from my shoulders. From that point, He has begun a wonderful work in me that, through His love, has revealed the sins in my life for which I have asked for forgiveness. He has helped me to be a better husband, which has strengthened my marriage, and He has helped me to grow as a leader in the church. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me”, Rev 3:20. I thank God for all he has done and is doing in my life. As the Men’s Ministry leader I believe it is important that men understand their role as husbands, fathers, servants and leaders as modeled by our Lord Jesus Christ. We accomplish this by being in the word, leadership training and fellowship with other men. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” Proverbs 27:17 I would like to invite all men who want to reflect the attributes of Christ to come and be transformed.
